Have you heard from your financial advisor lately?

After being affiliated in the North Shore for over 15 years in banking and financial services, Alyson Basso and Jonathan Lee set up an independent financial advisory firm, Hayden Financial Group, in Middleton this past January. Their goal was to continue to provide customized financial advice and vigorously cultivate new clients.

Like almost everyone else, they did not foresee the COVID-19 pandemic and concomitant shutdown, with enforced social

distancing, and turbulent stock market. But they have since discovered that “the silver lining has been the opportunity to connect on a deeper level with our clients,” according to Basso, whose daughter Hayden lends her name to the practice. “In some instances, we are talking with clients weekly. Our conversations go far beyond financial planning. It is important to us that our clients know they can contact us any time, for any reason. We are here to help any way that we can.”

“Recent weeks have seen some extraordinary moves in the financial markets, as the world reacts to the spread of COVID19,” Lee says. “We are closely monitoring current news and economic reports, and we are committed to supporting our clients through this season.”

Basso and Lee, who have more than 60 years’ experience between them at various firms, founded Hayden Financial Group as a client-centric practice offering a combination of independence and individuality, with industry-leading resources.

Their reasons for becoming financial professionals are deeply personal.

Basso explains, “We are independent financial advisors, and we are proud fiduciaries. Our goal as financial advisors is to always act in the best interest of our clients. What sets us apart is communication, commitment to our clients, and compassion.”

Clients include individuals and families, often multigenerational, as well as businesses throughout the North Shore. The pair decided to locate in Middleton because of their past connections to the town, and dedication to the Middleton community. They are currently working on various community projects that will highlight the philanthropic character of Hayden Financial Group.

Using a team approach, Basso and Lee meet with clients to talk about their goals and dreams, and “most importantly, we listen,” Basso says. Together with their clients, they build a plan that is individually tailored to their client’s needs and goals, then implement those strategies and regularly revisit and review them. Their financial planning services can include tax planning, estate planning, retirement planning, or life-based event planning such as saving for college, getting married, purchasing a home, or planning an inheritance.

“We thoughtfully build ongoing and valued client relationships,” Basso describes. “As a team, we strive to keep our clients on track toward a meaningful and purposedriven financial future.”

In addition to their years of experience, Basso and Lee also integrate innovative technology, strategic partnerships and extensive resources. They are continuously building relationships with business partners, such as attorneys, accountants and insurance agents on the North Shore to strengthen the value they are able to offer to their clients.

“Finances shouldn’t be a scary thing,” says Lee, who was once interviewed for the national bond industry’s trade newspaper The Bond Buyer. “We help take the mystery out of preparing for today and tomorrow.”

“We have developed a reputation for educating individuals in an easy-to-understand manner so they can grasp personal finance and use those concepts to pursue their financial objectives,” says Lee. “Many of our client relationships began with a client reaching out that had not heard from their financial advisor in a time of need. We are here to help.”

As trusted advisors, Jonathan and Alyson have a unique vantage point allowing them to see and respond to the concerns of many who count on them. By managing the situation thoughtfully, they have learned they can guide clients through challenging times and focus on emerging stronger on the other side.
